Are Marvel and Disney Planning To Not Recast Clint Barton Even After Jeremy Renner Scandal?

Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner at risk of recasting:

New reports suggest that Marvel And Disney have come to a mutual decision. They will not be recasting Clint Barton in the upcoming Hawkeye series. This decision is regardless of the recent allegations that Renner’s ex-wife made against him.

This also means that Renner will probably continue playing Clint in the Marvel show. Moreover, he might also reprise this role in the future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Jeremy Renner’s Role In The MCU

Both Marvel and Disney are siding with Renner in the current scandal. Renner has played Clint Barton in five MCU films. These include his uncredited cameo in 2011’s Thor. In July 2019, there was a confirmation that the Bourne Legacy star would reprise the role in a new TV series.

This show would focus on Hawkeye and his protege Kate Bishop. However, the recent scandal involving Renner’s former partner also led to speculations that he would not be a part of the project anymore.

Allegations Against Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner:

Renner’s ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco reportedly claims that the Endgame actor threatened to kill her before killing himself. She also says that the actor was intoxicated throughout their relationship. Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner, however, denies all the allegations.

Furthermore, he says that Pacheco is an “unstable liar.” Currently, the two are fighting a custody battle of their six-year-old daughter, Ava. Renner’s representative has also released an official statement regarding the case.

The Official Statement Regarding The Case:

Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner is in deep waters over the serious allegations against him. In the statement, the representative states that the well-being of Ava is the primary focus for the actor. It also mentions that the court will decide who gets the custody of the six-year-old. However, the statement also mentions the importance of Pacheco’s dramatized declaration. It states that her declaration is a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind.

In Conclusion:

Regardless, it is a messy situation, both for Renner and his ex. We, on the other hand, hope that everything settles as soon as possible. As of now, the Hawkeye series does not have an official release date. However, we expect it to air on Disney Plus sometime in 2021.
