Anirudh, Sushil Kumar’s aide sent to 4 day custody

Wrestler Sushil Kumar’s close aide Anirudh has been sent to 4-day police custody.

He was arrested in connection with the murder of a Junior National Wrestling Champion.

Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested Anirudh on Thursday.

In all, the Police have arrested 10 people in relation to the incident.

The police wanted a 7-day interrogation, however, the accused had to be taken to Jammu.

As a result, Magistrate Divya Malhotra allowed his interrogation for only 4 days.

Anirudh was also reportedly seen in a video that recorded the alleged brawl.

Sushil Kumar and his associates had allegedly assaulted the victim.

Sagar Dhankar and his two friends Sonu Mahal and Amit Kumar were badly assaulted.

According to reports, Sagar was Graeco Roman wrestler and looked up to Sushil.

The incident happened on the intervening night of May 4 and 5.

It happened in Chhatrasal Stadium, Delhi.

As a result, the image of Chhatrasal stadium has been tainted.

It had given India its finest wrestlers like Sushil, Yogeshwar Dutt, Bajrang Punia.

The brawl took place due to a property dispute between the two parties.

Dhankar later succumbed to his injuries. He was 23 years old.

The two-time Olympic medallist is accused of murder, culpable homicide, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy.

The wrestler evaded the Police for almost 20 days after the incident.

The Delhi Police had announced a reward of ₹ 1 lakh for information about Sushil Kumar.

Sushil was arrested in Mundka on 23rd May.

The police have labeled him as the main mastermind and culprit.

There is also electronic evidence of the whole ordeal, the Police added.
