Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham are always remembered as an iconic duo due to their banter and camaraderie in movies like ‘Dostana‘ and ‘Dhoom.’
Plot
According to various reports, the two will be collaborating yet again for an action-thriller film. This project is supposed to be the Hindi remake of the 2020 Malayalam film ‘Ayyapanum Koshiyum.’ Made by late K. R. Sachidanandan, aka Sachy,
the original movie starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles. This story revolves around a clash between a police officer (Ayyappan) and man who entered the village with a motive.
Dostana 2 status
Ever since the release of Dostana, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan tried to collaborate several times, but nothing really materialized.
According to some buzz, they were supposed to collaborate yet again for Dostana 2. But Karan Johar decided to go a different route. He has now cast Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and debutant Lakshya for the Dostana sequel instead. They are in conversation about the film and will soon complete all the formalities.
A remake in the works
Last year in March, John Abraham had bought the rights of Ayyapanum Koshiyum. He planned on starting working towards the same once the pandemic restrictions are loosened. But there’s no confirmation whether Abhishek Bachchan would yet again essay the role of a policeman. Nevertheless, Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a typical two-hero film that’ll do justice to both of their personas.
