Marvel has been a hit at the box office for almost a decade. The MCU is now past the $18 billion mark globally and that figure will substantially rise in this month. Almost three weeks to the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, the sequel to the $2 billion smashes Infinity War.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe had humble beginnings in the early days of Phase 1, but the franchise’s profile grew exponentially after the original Avengers came out in 2012. In the seven years since, Marvel has only grown in prominence, successfully making hit films.

“Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)
‘Avengers: Infinity War ‘ officially crossed $2 billion at the global box office. It reached the milestone in its 48th day of release, with a worldwide total of $1.35 billion. Joe and Anthony Russo directed Infinity War, which assembles just about every Marvel hero to stop the tyrannical Thanos from obtaining all six Infinity Stones.
The Avengers (2012)
‘The Avengers’ grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide and became the third-highest-grossing film of all time, as well as the highest-grossing film of 2012. It was the first Marvel production to generate $1 billion in ticket sales. Iron Man 3 (2013)
It is the first Iron Man film to gross over $1 billion. The worldwide box office collections were around $1.21 billion. ‘Iron Man 3’ had the second-highest opening in history at the time of its release in May of 2013. In the film, directed by Shane Black, Tony fights a villain called Mandarin, supported by his love interest Pepper Potts and his right-hand man, Col. James Rhodes.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
‘Captain America: Civil War’ grossed about $1.15 billion at the box office worldwide. It became the highest-grossing film of 2016. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film depicts the U.S. government’s resolution to place limitations on the power of the Avengers splits the team into two factions leaded — one by Captain America and another by Iron Man.

‘Captain Marvel’ is the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to hit a huge box-office milestone. The movie just reached $1 billion at the worldwide box office, joining six other MCU movies. According to Disney, the film broke boundaries with the first-ever female-led MCU film.
